A feature meme has been going around DA. The first people to comment here will be featured. For a twist on mine, I've decided to do a Valentine theme and as an article. I have a love for skinning articles, so it is a pleasure to do.

Sarah Sertic is a talented photographer from the DC area. She recently joined the Workhouse Lorton Art Center, with her own studio space. She has a wide array of photography, from fetish model to urban decay and landscape scenery. She has a keen eye for color, composition and visual appeal.I met Sarah via a mutual friend, model Vasara Noxxul. Though we have never met in person, we have quickly become friends. I had seen portraits of my friend taken by Sarah for years before I ever spoke to her. I had already admired her work as an artist. I was quite pleased to find her on DeviantART. I am always excited to find artists within my social network who are on DeviantART as well.

JoAnn is a photographer and an instant friend.
We met via DevNews group where she is a major contributor to the article collections. One thing immediately caught my eye. Right under her profile name in her tag line "Deaf Photographer". On DeviantART, everyone has a certain level of internet anonymity. We're all the same, we don't notice things like visual or hearing impairments like you would if we met face to face. I studied American Sign Language in high school to better communicate with a friend. I learned a lot about the culture, it gave me better understanding of my friend, more than just being able to talk to her.
I admire that JoAnn has boldly removed that anonymous barrier, being deaf is not a handicap, it is a part of who she is and has shaped how
