Specified Selectors

deviantArt uses a lot of selectors in their css, most common ones you can find in tutorials like .gr-top and .gr-body - most of you probably also know .shadow-holder which holds a.thumb, but did you know that avatars are being held in a selector called .avatar ? :eyes: That means that you can customize how avatars should look throughout a journal or in a specific part, like in a menu:

.menu .avatar {
border:1px solid #000;
background-color:#ccc;
padding:5px;
float:right;
margin-left:5px;
}
Basically, you can add specific styling to a class that is in any section.  Great for use in menus, but also where there are multiple instances that use the same selector.  Such as the title of your journal, .gr-top h2{}.  If you wish to use h2 in your text area, then it would edit your title instead of only the text area.  That might not be ideal.  So, I add the specification .text h2{}.  This affects only the specified h2 and not all instances.
