Understanding Basic CSS Structure
Here's a breakdown of CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) coding. I won't go over every single possible property and variable, but I will cover some of the basics to try to give an understanding of the structure and how to write a skin using this. Once you understand the simple layout of how the code works, then everything else will come very easily. If you know what CSS is, and what it's for, go ahead and skip to Writing the CSS. Or skip down to Adding properties and values to the code. Alternately, don't read anything, just look at the examples: Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, and Example 4.

Launch Event
Friday, June 24th, 12:00pm (see eCSSercise for countdown)
Contest, party, prizes, cake and punch. A fun meet & greet for students and mentors to get a chance to mingle before the classes get underway.
Would you like to learn how to code a lovely journal like this on the fly? I did not pre-design this one. Just an idea in my head and coded as I go. Myself and several other of the top CSS coders in the DA communities are willing to share our knowledge and work with individuals. A Mentor and a Student would be paired together, matched by their skills and what they can teach/want to learn. We are all experience levels and teach all levels of students. Learning fro a tutorial, a book or doing mad searches over the internet might not work for everybody. That's why we started this group. GinkgoWerkstatt's idea, which quickly got embraced by the circle of the CSS community. Please, take a moment to thank her for all the hard work putting together the group that she has done. She'll be at the Launch Event, I should be popping in, at least briefly. I'm so terrible at doing chats and such. I almost never get there at the right time...
Featured Journal Skins
eCSSercise is a group to help you learning or improving CSS skills. People from the community who are willing to help, offer their knowledge to be shared and their time to teach you how to deal with classes, properties and values.
