J

ournal collaboration with silverbane, my significant other and sometimes better half.  Please thank him for baring with me here.  A bit about this journal....  Top to bottom, header and date...  He doesn't like the date formatting, and removes them from his and may be centering his header text instead.  If you wish to do this as well, find .gr-top span{display:noneDISABLED;} and remove the DISABLED, this will remove the date stamp.  Then simply change the .gr-top {text-align:left; text-align:centerDISABLED;}, switching which is DISABLED (or delete whichever line you like).

ow most importantly, you MUST not remove the <div class="one"> in the header and the end div tag in the footer.  These format your text area box.  All you have to do is type in your journal.  If you want something to appear in the header or footer, if it is outside of those tags, it will be outside of your text area.  Above the header is not formatted, so I have no clue where anything would go if you put it there.  Below, in the footer, same thing, there's two sections there, "feature" and "credit".  Therefore, it is not suggested to have anything else in the header or footer area unless it is inside those tags.  For the lovely big letter which has a special font you must download to see, this is formatted using <p>A</p> around the first letter of your paragraph.  This floats it to the left, adds the font change, bg change, size and box.  Technically, you could wrap this around anything, but it's not really recommended.

Font for the big letter available here: www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/Diplo…

I

have added a centering div class.  Which does one thing, it centers.  You can use this for text or thumbs.  Just add <div class="center">:thumb###:</div>.  Thumbs are formatted with the .shadow-holder coding, which I plan to be creating a tutorial for explaining what you can do with this.  I have been exploring it quite a bit and don't see any other explanations of it around.  Your text area will have no scrollbar displayed if you do not go over the text area.  Dark bolded items is <strong></strong>.

inally, we have the footer.  In the footer there is the "feature" which you simply change the thumbnail.  Do not add multiple thumbs here, it is not formatted, nor does it fit.  Below that is our credit and link to the font.  Do not remove these.  I believe silverbane plans to release a wallpaper that compliments this journal skin, and even a PNG tube of the Grim Reaper wraith.  You will have to watch him for his permissions for those.  If you use this journal skin, please thank him.  I told him he should submit it to his gallery as well, but he might be silly and not do that.  This is our Halloween gift to DA.

:iconsilverbane: Featured Artist is silverbane.  He designed the artwork depicted in this journal, no stocks were used.  He created all textures from his own photographs and techniques.  The Grim Reaper is a linework of his which he has colored, and is available for others to color as well.  I designed the layout, then he added the awesome, then I did the CSS.  (I was just going to do some plain and simple CSS borders, but he wanted to create borders o_O  I swear, he's my awesome filter, if I want something to look awesome, I make him finish it XDDDD  He doesn't have much up on DA anymore, but all of it is very awesome.  He spends HOURS redrawing every line he ever draws until it is perfect.  You really must look at his deviations full size, thumbnails do not do them justice.  His technique: Draw with good ole' pencil and paper, then transfer the good lines to a new sheet, and redraw, transfer, redraw...  Then scan into photoshop.  Clean up his lines, then redraw them.  Then sometimes, he prints it out and... you guessed it, redraws it.  I may joke, but I admire his precision detail and excessively good work.  I do not have the patience.  As he quickly finds out when he tries to make me redraw something.  Sorry hon, but I love you!
