New Label Requirement for AI Artwork by team, journal
New Label Requirement for AI Artwork
Starting today, deviations created using AI tools will need to be labeled as "Created using AI tools." Additionally, improvements are being made to browse settings, allowing deviants to more precisely control how much AI art they experience while browsing. Labeling Your Artwork UPDATE (July 19, 2023): Starting today, this label will be automatically applied if an image’s metadata indicates that it was created with AI. This metadata is embedded in images generated by most major AI tools. When submitting artwork, you will now see a required setting on the submit page to indicate whether or not your work was created using AI tools. This setting will be remembered when you submit, so it shouldn’t regularly impact your submission flow. Once submitted, a label stating “Created using AI tools” will appear on the deviation. This addition was a popular community request and allows all deviants to better identify works they want to engage with. Apply The Label To Multiple Deviations For
PC Guidelines | @PromotingPositivity | Group Guidelines Positive Comment Contest | Master List * * * * Hello! We're finally back for another Positive Comment! :) Happy New Year and hope everyone has been well after so long without this series. :wow: It's been so long that many of you may have not expected this series to ever return. I decided to reopen this series with a shoutout to an old friend who is offering Core, which is what I want to focus on. :squee: Mind you, they do talk about their dislike for AI, so just a warning about that. But hey, non-Core deviants! This is for you! A great way to start the new year, wouldn't you say? :giggle: With that said, let's get into it! :D Positive Comment of the Day Diamonds and NoAI! My post got a little long winded, but tldr; I'm taking diamond badge nominations and I have opinions on AI Art. -@gillianivyart (Source) Links Guidelines Volume 279 Volume 280: You Are Here Volume 281

NoAI meta tag is NOT honored by DA
Just as the header says, the "noai" meta tag that defaults our work opt-out of being scraped for AI is not honored, as shown by the conversation in GitHub forums here: https://github.com/rom1504/img2dataset/pull/218 If it doesn't load for you, dm me and I'll find a place to upload my screenshots of it. In addition, there is a kickstarter funding the eventual data-scrape of both ArtStation AND DeviantART to gather some 50-75 million images from REAL people to art, to train a NSFW ai model. And with DA (and possibly ArtStation) lying about this opt-out feature, that means all of us will get our data indiscriminately scooped up without our consent or knowledge. Fun! Given we know that there are some REALLY bad poeople out there with a hard-on for non-consensual, deplorable, evil things, I've got 0 doubt that this new model will be used wrongly, and it just sits wrong that real people will have their faces in an AI data set trained to generate explicit content. It crosses a huge
