UPDATED: Silverbane's Reaper by GillianIvy UPDATED: Silverbane's Reaper by GillianIvy

UPDATED VERSION

This journal has been fixed for IE, it previously had issues when IE randomly decided to stop reading the underscore rule, and now seems to work just fine without specifying for IE.

First ever collaboration with *silverbane. This features his art and he added all awesome parts. I did the layout and the CSS. Then he told me what I needed to fix. Then I pulled out my hair and fixed it. He made me make things be perfectly aligned down to the last pixel, except the date, he let me leave it misaligned imperfectly. I thrive on imperfections....

The notes on this skin are in my journal, however, I will reiterate the main points here.

:bulletblack:Do NOT remove <div class="one"> in the header (and closing tag in footer).
This will cause your journal to spontaneously combust... or misalign your whole text area and make it go all crazy with no bg. You can place this inside the text area, before and after your text, this will actually look better, as there's a small padding that comes from it's header placement. But I wanted it to be as easy as possible, so all you need to do is type in your journal.

:bulletblack: First letter formatting: <p>A</p> tag around the first letter of your paragraph.
This floats it to the left, adds border and padding, etc. The font used in the preview is called Diploma and available here: [link] It is a free font, but not required, otherwise, it will be in Arial and looks just fine. The link is in the credits too if viewers of your journal wish to download it.

:bulletblack:Centering text/thumbs/etc: <div class="center">:thumb####:</div> around whatever you want to be centered.

:bulletblack:Bolded text: <strong> makes text bold and dark colored.

:bulletblack:Featured Deviation: <div class="feature">:thumb####:</div>
This must remain in the footer area, do not move to header or text area, it will not show up in the right place. Just change the thumb to whatever you would like to feature. And only one featured, you can have additional thumbs in your text area which will not be affected by coding.Matching thumb designs are displayed in the main text area, the feature one is formatted for placement.

:bulletblack:Emotes and Plz Accounts: Add the <em>:iconxdlaplz:</em> around your icon.
This removes padding, margin, bg, and all formatting so the small thumbs and emotes and icons look right.

Do not remove the credits from the footer. Or remove the "Skin by =GillianIvy" that DA adds at the end

Amazing. Definitely a very creative journal skin. The use of the reaper to set the theme of the whole skin brings the whole thing together. The borders definitely match the theme, as well as the font and background of the actual body. Also, the use of "Featured" deviation on a journal skin is pretty unique. I haven't seen many journal skins, but I can tell that this one is pretty special with that feature alone. Although I wouldn't really know. I'm not counting on major points for that alone.

My only suggestion would be the blur the shadow of the reaper. It looks a bit two-dimensional, and although that might fit his form, it doesn't look too good on a journal skin. I'm sure more people would like the shadow blurred as well, just not too much.

Overall, an amazing skin. I'm very glad to be using this, and I'm sure other people are as well! :)

Do you need a premium to use this skin

Yes, journal skins are a Premium user feature.  Keep an eye out for holiday sales, as they usually have a b1g1, they did recently, but may again.  This skin is an older one now, so may need some adjustments for it to be fully functional.  Someday, I may revisit this.

Also good to look out for contests and giveaways in journals.  They often have points and subs as the prize.

Yes. This is one of my older skins so some of the CSS may need tweaking, I think I posted up the explanations in the description. Any help needed let me know.
