This is created from an upcycled cereal box cardboard and this masking tape technique by *hogret as a tutorial on *ATCfanatics
I created these for a different tutorial I'm working on for upcycling cereal box cardboard into ATCs and Postcards. This is the second in the series.
The two cards in this set are in tribute of the Great Douglas Adams. "Ah, safe, this much be some strange use of the word I wasn't previously aware of". His wisdom is missed in this world. I have taken down quite a few quotations from Douglas Adams' writings, wrote them on coffee and tea stained scraps of paper, wetted and dried them again, scrawled on more quotes...
2½"x3½" Cereal box with masking tape, acrylic paints, collaged art pieces. Available for trade/purchase. Not yet listed on my Etsy [link] convo me for request.
Oh please do reuse your old cereal boxes! I am finding lots of uses for them. And toilet paper tubes. XD
Guiltily, I drew the leaves after a design on some cheap stationary to do list thing I have. Just looks waaay better with gel pens on black paper
I will be doing a tutorial on the cereal box stuffs. Especially as I come up with new ways to incorporate it. Right now, I use it for packaging/shipping, I make post cards and art cards, and use them for covers on mini art books. I collected some boxes for over a month and was amazed by how many boxes get thrown away in our trash. We are a wasteful society. My rural area does not provide recycling services yet but will soon.
Wow that's great! My son uses our cereal boxes to make into forts and castles.... I'll have to sneak one when he isn't looking! As soon as I get one done, I'll post it and let you know! Thanks for the ideas too!
Another fun project for him to do too! ;D I first made cereal box postcards when I was about 14. Just paint, they were kinda lousy for writing on though. Now I just paint the one side and you can still write on the other side. They're light enough color.
