Firestar Walked Away T

Artist Trading Card created per request for *raccoon-eyes for a sketch card trade. This is my first character illustration for an ATC. I had a lot of fun with this one. As I had never heard of the character, Firestar, Angelica Jones, before. So a little bit of research later, I found a Marvel Wiki with nice story detail. And found a moment I wanted to capture.

After her fiance had called off the engagement, and with the supermutant registry enactment, Angelica chose to retire Firestar for good, throwing her mask into the street.

I liked the later costume design, sort of the classic X-men style of leather jacket over spandex, big collars and cuffs. Her power was microwave emission, enabling her to cause great heat and to control the energy below herself to give herself a flight with sort of flamey glowy effects, which were mostly yellow and pink.
